Waste Reduction
ITU and AbsorbTech operate all processing facilities under the belief that environmental responsibility is essential. Textile products that are reused many times eliminate the waste created by disposable products and conserves natural resources. Through management practices and technology advances, we strive to drive down consumption of energy, water and packaging and increase the life of the textiles themselves.

Our premier product that encompasses our waste reduction philosophy is SorbIts®, a complete line of launderable, reusable absorbents and towels. The closed process for SorbIts® provides customers a cost-effective way to eliminate waste streams.

Our Floor Care mat options provide a reusable alternative to disposable products that are landfilled. Additionally, we have Managed Facility Products that help to reduce waste. By choosing our Cloth Roll Towels, environmentally friendly paper products or all-natural soaps, you have helped to reduce waste.

Solvent Recovery —
ITU holds the patent on an important process technology that allows solvent recovery tracking by customer. This
information is available to our SorbIts® customers to use in their own facility reporting. Prior to laundering, solvent bearing
textiles are segregated and processed through a solvent recovery system. This technology achieves three important
objectives:

• Recovers solvents for reuse, not emissions into air, water or waste
• Reduces significantly the facilities’ air emissions
• Reduces liability through reduction/elimination of solvent bearing waste

ISO Compliance
With our SorbIts® system, recovered oil/solvents are recycled, creating an immediate reduction of a waste stream which supports waste reduction goals and assists facilities in meeting 14001 objectives.

Additionally, the cleaning process we use for our Gloves and Filter Bags provides support for your ISO compliance.
